haha...thanks...i saw dat lindz=D haha...throw snowballs at me...haha...how fun it would be if we can play in the snow!!! haiz...actually tink of it...i m quite happy dat both of us will be enjoying white christmas this year...haha...cos i m gg korea on christmas day...but the say thing is we are not at the same place =( hmmm...will wait for next june to come!!!
actually...these few days i have been thinking of why i like Jay Chou so so much...yesterday i went shopping for christmas presents for our class christmas party with albert, weiping and ttp and when we got to HMV...i straightaway shot to the section where Jay chou's CDs are on display...sometimes i wonder..why am i feeling like that? Singapore Idol's judge Florence Lian once said dat an idol is someone who makes u feel very excited...be it his little action...photo or news...all he has to do is bat an eyelid...smile a little or jus look at you(erm..one can imagine he is looking at you even if he is not) it will make you feel so high...haha...i tink my idol is Jay Chou...and let me recall when i first started liking him...haha
It was this hot stifling morning in nanyang...i was sec 4 then...was revising for some stupid test in class...Ronglin my classmate started playing this CD in our class' CD player(er...haha..dur) she played this super duper cool song that was kinda rap...it was really really cool...i must qualify that before that day...i never really listen to any chinese songs...mostly english songs only...but it was that moment...which was kind of immortalised...that moment made me fell in love with that singer...i wonder who he was...it was so freakin cool...dat song...
And den i realised the singer was this guy called Jay Chou Jie Lun.
I was preparing for Os that time...so all these stuff was put away...that moment was put away temporarily until i revisited it some months later.
During that school holidays then, i got a chance to see his photo...this was my initial reaction: wat an ugly and unkempt fellow he is!! His eyes were too slity, mouth too...er...weird...hair too long and his gaze was kind of idiotic...
My sis was in love with him then...she let me listen to this song called 安 静 which she absolutely adores...den she asked me whether it was nice...i was like "urghhhh...so 难 听 ” i mean it really was not pleasing to the ear at first...in fact it sounded like some cliched chinese song...it's tune was cliched and all that...i was just not impressed...
But u know...Jay's songs are kind of weird...u need to listen to them more than once to fully appreciate them...and so it turned out...the more my sister played them...the more i liked them...i realised that there was this uniqueness to his music...each of his song has sort of a theme that he carries through so well...the melody, sound effects, and backup all fit so nicely together that it's hard to believe he actually composed it...in fact...his songs don't sound composed...they are too natural to be composed...his songs are just music...his songs are not just some trash pop tunes...the tunes really touch your heart...they struck a chord with me
